Introducing Risca Horticultural Society
At RCV forming meaningful connections within the community has always been at the heart of what we do. We believe that a connected community is an empowered community. The Risca Horticultural Society is our latest avenue to bring people together with a common interest in gardening.

The Risca Horticultural Society is a group of local people whom all have one passion in common, gardening! In 2022 Gardening can look like many things; whether it be growing vegetables, cut flowers or house plants – everyone interested in plants and nature is welcome. No matter if you’re a seasoned pro or you are wanting to find a way to get started, we will have a range of ways you can get involved.
Expel the stereotypical view of what may come to mind when you think of a Horticultural Society. Gardening really is for everyone, and everyone is welcome to be part of this society. There are lots of ways you can be part of Risca Horticultural Society, whether it be helping out on our community allotment, or becoming part of the committee.
Of course, you can just come along and participate in the monthly activities, with no strings attached!
Membership in the Risca Horticultural Society means you stay up to date with the latest news and activities & receive amazing offers, too.

This Saturday we will be at the Time Counseling and Wellbeing Centre in Tredegar Street, Risca for their Risca's Markets Market, hosted by The Hive on 1st October to talk about our new society with our founder Catherine. Catherine is passionate about all things gardening. Here she is with her pride and joy, homegrown and nurtured pumpkin, that she describes as something she has loved as a child for the past year:

Risca is blessed to have such a community spirit, not all towns and villages have that. So when I expressed interest in starting a club where fellow gardeners could come together to learn and grow, Tara, Dawn and the RCV Team were so welcoming and supportive. I'm super excited for the future of Risca Horticultural Society. - Catherine
We are absolutely thrilled to have Catherine as part of the RCV team. Pop along to meet her and discuss all things gardening and learn about the fantastic upcoming workshops and talks she has planned.
