Death Cafe
Ever wanted to discuss death in an open forum? Interested in hearing other people's thoughts and feelings on the afterlife? The Death Cafe at We Connect could be just for you.
Running the first Monday of every Month in We Connect from 6:30pm.
What is the Death Cafe?
The Death Cafe model was developed by Jon Underwood and Sue Barsky Reid, based on the ideas of Bernard Crettaz. It is a safe space for people to gather, enjoy a hot drink and some cake (or biscuits whatever you fancy) and discuss death. The objective is simply to
'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives'.
A Death Cafe is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session.
Like everything we do at RCV UK, the Death Cafe is not-for-profit and volunteer-led. We promise that the death cafes will be accessible, confidential, and respectful places and run in line with the official Death Cafe guidance.
